Our Family Traditions

Merry Christmas!

Family traditions are one of the ways we express love, create lasting memories, and celebrate our connection. Some of our traditions are simple but meaningful, like weekly Sunday dinners where we cook together, share stories from the week, and laugh over little moments. These dinners help us pause, reflect, and reconnect, building a sense of stability and belonging that we hope to share with a child.

Holidays are another important part of our family traditions. We enjoy decorating the home, sharing favorite recipes, and creating personalized rituals that make each holiday special. Birthdays are always celebrated with intentionality—fun activities, small surprises, and a focus on making the day feel unique and meaningful. We also love incorporating seasonal traditions, like exploring nature trails in the fall, gardening in the spring, or taking weekend trips during the summer. These experiences teach appreciation for the world around us and offer opportunities for play, curiosity, and family bonding.

As parents, we look forward to creating traditions with our child that combine the ones we already cherish with new ones that reflect their interests and personality. Our hope is that these traditions—big and small—become touchstones of love, comfort, and joy, shaping memories that last a lifetime.

Our Lifestyle

In the Cockpit

Our lifestyle is active, adventurous, and rooted in strong family connections. As an airline pilot, Chris has a career that allows us the unique perk of traveling across the country and around the world. We love exploring new cities, cultures, and natural landscapes, and we can’t wait to share that sense of curiosity and wonder with a child. Travel is not just about seeing new places—it’s about creating memories, learning together, and experiencing the world in a hands-on, meaningful way. Even with a career that sometimes requires Chris to be away, we are fortunate to have family nearby who provide support, guidance, and love. At home, our lifestyle is a mix of structured routines and spontaneous adventures. We value time outdoors, creative play, and shared family activities—whether that’s cooking, reading, exploring parks, or just enjoying quiet evenings together. Our lifestyle emphasizes connection, curiosity, and balance, and we are committed to providing a home where a child feels secure, loved, and free to explore both the world and their own interests.

Qualities We Love in Each Other

In Norway

One of the things we love most about each other is the balance we bring to our partnership. One of us tends to be patient, thoughtful, and reflective, while the other brings energy, curiosity, and a playful sense of adventure into everyday life. Together, these qualities complement each other beautifully—we learn from one another, celebrate our differences, and support each other’s growth.

We deeply admire each other’s empathy, kindness, and integrity. We respect the way we communicate openly, approach challenges as a team, and intentionally make decisions that prioritize our family’s well-being. Even in difficult moments, we find ways to lift each other up and maintain a foundation of trust and respect.

Beyond our individual traits, what makes our partnership unique is how we combine structure and flexibility. We plan thoughtfully, but we also make room for spontaneity and curiosity—qualities we hope to pass on to a child. These shared values form the foundation of the warm, secure, and nurturing home we hope to provide, where love, laughter, and mutual respect are at the center of every day.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in Pennsylvania in a peaceful, family-friendly community surrounded by nature. One of the things we love most about our home is its location directly across from a beautiful nature preserve. The preserve has walking trails, covered bridges along a creek, parks, and even a small zoo. It is a place where families spend time exploring, walking, and enjoying the outdoors. We often imagine how special it will be to take this child there for walks, bike rides, and visits to see the animals. Our home is a two-story single-family house on more than an acre of land. The large yard is fenced and gives us plenty of space to play outside, relax, and enjoy being surrounded by nature. We love spending time outside and look forward to backyard playtime, family barbecues, and simply enjoying the peaceful setting.

Our community is very supportive of families and has a close-knit feel. Local parks are abundant, and there are community fairs and seasonal events throughout the year that bring people together. A few of our friends live nearby and have children of similar ages, which means this child will grow up surrounded by friends and opportunities to play and explore together. The school district is also known for being a strong and supportive community where families know each other and stay involved. We feel incredibly grateful to live in a place where children can grow up safely, spend time outdoors, and grow in a caring neighborhood.

Our Extended Families

With Family

Family is a very important part of our lives, and we are lucky to be surrounded by a large, loving extended family. Our parents and siblings live nearby, which means we get together often for holidays, birthdays, and sometimes just because it’s Sunday and everyone is ready to gather. We come from very close-knit families who are fun, outgoing, supportive, and always happy to spend time together. One of our favorite traditions is Sunday dinner. Everyone looks forward to sitting around the table, especially when Italian food is involved. The kitchen is always busy, the table is full, and the conversations and laughter seem to last for hours. Holidays are also a big celebration in our families, with special traditions, favorite foods, and gatherings that everyone looks forward to each year. In our family, birthdays are important too — we never miss a chance to celebrate someone we love. When we are together, you will often find us playing card games or board games after dinner. A little friendly competition always comes out, especially when Nanny is playing — she is known for being very competitive and loves trying to win. Our families are incredibly excited about our adoption journey and have been supportive every step of the way. They ask often about this child and cannot wait to welcome them with open arms. This child will grow up surrounded by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many people who are ready to cheer them on through every milestone.

With Chris' Sister

From Us to You

First, we want to thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We can only imagine the strength, love, and courage it takes to consider adoption. While we may not know you yet, we already have so much respect for you and the thoughtful decision you are making for your child. We hope this letter helps you get a small glimpse into who we are and the kind of home we hope to share with a child.

We are Paul and Chris, and we have been together for six years and married for almost two. Our relationship is built on friendship, laughter, and a deep respect for one another. We truly enjoy spending time together, whether it is something simple like cooking dinner, going for a walk, or spending time with our families and friends. We feel incredibly grateful for the life we have built together, and becoming parents is something we have talked about and dreamed about for a long time.

Family plays a huge role in our lives. We are fortunate to live close to our parents and siblings, and we spend a lot of time together for holidays, birthdays, and weekly Sunday dinners. Our families are loving, supportive, and very excited about our adoption journey. They already talk about how excited they are to welcome this child into the family with open arms. This child will grow up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close family friends who cannot wait to love and support them.

Our home is in Pennsylvania in a peaceful, family-friendly area surrounded by nature. Right across the street from our house is a nature preserve with parks, walking trails, covered bridges, and even a small zoo. It is a place where families spend time outdoors, and we often imagine taking walks there, visiting the animals, and watching a child explore and discover the world around them.

More than anything, we want you to know that your child would grow up in a home filled with love, encouragement, and support. We promise to nurture their curiosity, celebrate their individuality, and help them grow into the person they are meant to be. We will always honor and respect the story of where they came from and the incredible love that brought them into our family.

We also want you to know that we are committed to maintaining a connection with you if that is something you would like. We will send letters and pictures so you can see how your child is growing and thriving. If you feel comfortable with more contact, we are open to exchanging emails, phone calls, and even future visits when possible. We truly believe that adoption can be built on honesty, respect, and connection, and we want to honor whatever level of contact feels right for you.

We cannot pretend to fully understand how difficult this decision may be, but we want you to know that we approach this journey with humility and gratitude. If you choose us, we promise to love your child with all our hearts and to provide a safe, joyful, and supportive home where they will always know how deeply they are loved.

Thank you again for considering us and for taking the time to read our story. No matter what path you choose, we wish you peace, strength, and support.

With gratitude,

Paul & Christopher
